Diverse media waaronder Nu.nl en het AD melden zojuist het faillissement van Cirque du Soleil. “Cirque du Soleil is failliet. Het Canadese entertainmentbedrijf meldt op de website dat het een verzoek tot uitstel van betaling heeft gedaan en aan een doorstart werkt.
Het gaat sinds de uitbraak van de coronapandemie slecht met Cirque du Soleil. Het bedrijf heeft voorstellingen af moeten zeggen en ontsloeg dit voorjaar al 95 procent van het personeel.”

For now, our performances are paused, and as you may have heard, we—like most in the live entertainment industry—are experiencing difficult times. Rest assured that we are pursuing the best options that will allow us to resume our business activities as soon as possible.
This is only an intermission. Soon the spotlights will come back on, illuminating the stage in celebration, and the sound of cheering will echo—not just from the audience, but also from the stage—as we celebrate our return, together!
